  • "Teacher says...everytime a bell rings, an angel gets its wings". 🔔 If you are looking for a fun Christmas themed getaway, take a trip to Seneca Falls, NY. Here, you will find the "It's a Wonderful Life" bridge. 🌉 This is the bridge that inspired the 'George Bailey jumping off a bridge' scene in the 1946 Frank Capra film starring Jimmy Stewart. The film has gone on to be a holiday classic. The bridge is adorned with many little bells, that visitors place there with the names of lost loved ones in their memory. 🔔 These bells are sold at the "It's a Wonderful Life Museum" in town. 🎄 Seneca Falls is also the birthplace of women's rights.   • If you are looking for a great way to bring some extra cheer into your holiday celebrations, try these delicious cocktail mixers from @appleflatsfoods.   • Paul Bunyan is a larger-than-life lumberjack and American Folk hero. Along with his best friend Babe, the blue Ox they are the subject of many tall tales. 🐂 There are several #PaulBunyan Statues around the USA (and Canada). This one is located at the Rumford, Maine visitor centre. It is located in a beautiful spot along the Androscoggin River in the Maine north woods. 🌳 You will see another #PaulBunyan statue in our previous post from @visitbangormaine . . #Roadsideattractions #RogueTrippers
  • This weekend, we took our annual roadtrip to see Evil Dead the Musical. 💀 We're all jammed in the car And we're going really far Driving deep into the trees With hot dogs, chips and cheese. 🌳🌲 This time we went to Orono, Maine (just outside Bangor). This was a small local theatre production, from @sometheatrecompany. We had our front row centre seats in the "Soak Zone"...and they weren't kidding around.   • "They're creepy, and they're kooky, mysterious, and spooky." 💀 A trip to a cemetery may seem like an unusual place to visit when you are on vacation. They can also be a great place to learn a little bit of history about where you are, and the people who lived (and died) there. We love to look for cemeteries with a fascinating story when we travel. Our favourite types of graves include those with famous people, hauntings, unusual headstones, historical events, and those with notorious residents. 💀 Some examples of these include: 🔹Edgar Allan Poe: Baltimore, MD 🔹cryptic headstone: Wellesley, ON 🔹BootHill graveyard: Tombstone, AZ (shootout at OK corral) 🔹Lafayette Cemetery No 1: New Orleans, LA 🔹Burying Point: Salem, MA (Salem Witch trials) 🔹Mark Twain: Elmira, NY 🔹Night of the Living Dead: Evans City, PA 🔹Marie Laveau (voodoo queen): New Orleans, LA 🔹Jack The Ripper (suspected): Rochester, NY . . . .   • We had a cran-tastic time at the Bala Cranberry Festival. 🍁 Cranberries are another wonderful flavour of autumn, and in Bala they take their love of the tart superfruit very seriously. This was our first time going to @balacranberry and we were surprised by the size of this festival. It is a massive festival, and we definitely underestimated people's love for the cranberry. 🎯 #balacranberryfestival #crancapital
